The modern apple tree produces fruit without having to grow tall. This makes it much easier to get at the apples. This newer orchard on Head of Pond Road has the tress in very organized rows by variety of apple. The fields looks striped in the fall as the different colored apples make varied bright colored mounds under the rows.
