Hamptons Nightlife

This painting on view at the new Parrish Museum shows the view from RT 27 as one passed the Caldor shopping center heading west toward the city. Caldor is now a Kmart and there is a King Kullen about where this screen stood.

First Snow at Pumpkin Town, Water Mill

Yesterday the tri-state area had another storm. For the eastend it did not change over to snow till late in the evening. This morning we woke to a frosty inch of snow in the area.

Party Time

We are very fortunate to have an independent green grocer here that provides exceptional fresh herbs and vegetables year round. Giant basil, fresh dill, radishes, fresh tarragon, rich chives, cilantro and parsleys.

Pool House

This winter I built a cover over my pool from clear plastic panels designed for greenhouses. So far it has been too cold to test how the panels might hold the heat if the pool is heated up. Regardless they  have done a good job of keeping leaves out of the pool.

Stormy Night

Last night we had a typical winter storm. With the beaches so torn up from Sandy it was not sure how things would go. This appears to be low tide. This retaining wall would usually be buried under a large sand dune that was swept away by the hurricane.

Holiday Traditions

It is nice to have the tree up for the holidays. Like many Christmas trees in America this tree live in the attic most of the year.

Lunar Moment

Driving along RT 27 I noticed a dramatic spot next to the moon. I was curious about this and asked my good friend Anne who is smarter about the night sky than I. She suggested that I was seeing Jupiter. I shot this photo through the open roof, bracing the camera on the car helped to keep it extra steady.
