The top of this cut is capped with a nice lawn. The layers are lots of sand, about six inches of earth-clay mix and then over a foot of nice topsoil. This layer of soil is typical to most f the village area, most of the village land was farm land until the homes spread out from the core of the village

Woosh
This view of Old Town Beach shows how Sandy swept away the line of dunes. This new sand has been placed to help protect homes from possible winter storms that often erode our beaches.

Fouth of July Blooms Again
Rose fireworks in December. Many of my roses are have a sparse late bloom this December making ramdom spots of color in the garden.

Down for the Count ?
The old Coast Guard house on Meadow Lane was a victim to Sandy's flooding. It appears that the storm water undermined the footings and now the roof sits on the ground. A popular focal point in the area local residents hope to have the folly rebuilt with private money.

Light Show
Santa came to Southampton's Main Street tonight on a fire truck. Helpers wore yellow jumpers, black rubber boots and red fuzzy caps.
