These simple window boxes dress up the windows on the old Pelletreau Silver shop. The original shop made silver in the 1700's.

Modern Cameras
It used to be very tricky to capture an image like this. When you got the film back from the lab the raibow might be so washed out you could not see it. I like the newer technology.

Modern Orchard
Apple growers seem to have learned from the wine growers. This apple farm has a lot more apples from a lot less tree than I recall seeing in a traditional orchard. Less structured than the espalier'd trees one sees in Europe.This seems a very efficient system.

Off the Beaten Path

In a back corner of Marder's Nursery is Marder's Art Gallery. Set in a classic barn this gallery represents a good stable of thoughtful artists. Some artists from past years have moved on to much greater exposure.

Growth Spurt
Wow where did all those big pumpkins come from. Just last week this field at Pumpkin Town was a mass of green vines. Over night the pumpkins have swelled to emerge across the field.
