Red on Right Returning

This quiet back water creek has simple wooden sticks with red pennants to mark the channel. The code is when returning to port the red marker should be on the right of your boats bow. If you look further back you will see that the sticks direct your boat to the left of center to avoid a submerged sand bar.

What do Deer Eat

From the looks of this row of trees deer eat anything they can reach. I was amazed when I realized that it was deer that had under cut these trees so evenly.

Strange Critter

When I walked out the door this morning I spotted this frog. This was a surprise as I am staying in the woods not close to any marsh or pond. I was sure that this is a frog, not a toad. I did some research and learned this is a Wood Frog, they live on dry land and only need water for breeding in the spring.

Fine Tree

I liked this fine Willow that graces the drive of a home in the estate area. These trees look best when set on a great lawn like here.

Up Not Aaway

They used a truck with a cherry picker to hike up a worker and get the spars on the flap pole painted.

North Sea Mountain

This man made mount was closed to further additions around 1980. Maybe the highest point on the south fork it can be spotted from most all of the surrounding bays. The view from the top is fantastic.

The Bomb

When I was in High School outside of Washington DC I would see cars like this from time to time. For me the Jaguar XKE was the bomb. Much hotter than it's American brother the Vet. Both cars are truly two seaters with barely a truck or boot as the case may be.
