Like New
There is a new dune for The Dune Church, Sandy washed away the old dunes. Located on Gin Lane at the base of Lake Agawam the church was reputed to have washed onto Jobs Lane in the huricane of'38.

Work of Nature
Our summer farm market features the wares of our local bee keeper EAST END APIARIES.
I like how the hexagonal honey jars can form up to make a honeycomb.

Along the north edge of the south fork one can find a mix of;
sandy bay beaches, bluffs, harbors, ponds and coves.

Flowers Gone Wild
It first pass this might look like a wild flower meadow. Actually it is a wildly extravagant planting of hardy perennials. For the first year the appearance was a little spotty, now it is really filling in to form a fine garden.

Compliments
When colors fall on opposite sides of the color wheel they are called complimentary colors.
I think these blue and orange blooms are good examples.
I enjoy reactive color combinations in my garden.

Fresh Face
The Polish Catholic Church on Maple Street near the train station recently got a makeover.
I think they did a great job of keeping the charm of an older building and making it all look very fresh. The shingle siding and details are a nice reference to many fine homes in the area.

Garden Styles
When I first came to the Hamptons in the 80's a typical garden had blue hydrangea around the base of the house and pots with red geraniums about the pool. Today smart gardens are much more complex. The stylish gardener at this home has fit a full English border into her front pots.

Snatched in the Night
This morning my breakfast was missing. At first I thought I was confused about where I left my bread and cheese. I then spotted the new rip in the screen. I think a local raccoon beat me to it.
