Sun, Ice and Wind made for a great turn out of ice boats, Mecox Bay near Flying Point beach. These boats really fly.

 

Sun Power

Heading out to dinner tonight I saw a glow in the snow bank. It turns out that sun light shining through the snow had charged my solar light and it was now glowing back up through the snow.

Speed Racer

Once the fastest form of travel on earth, the ice boats are setting up on Mecox Bay.

Hamptons Night Life

Last night we got a fresh 2 inches of snow. In the morning it was very clear that an animal came out from under my car, walked across the parking area and up the steps, explored my kitchen doors and went back.

Spring Thaw

It's nice to see a bit of lawn showing in a few spots.

Heat Wave

This past Sunday with a warm afternoon and full sun the beach was fairly crowded..... packed for February.

Localized Flooding

With drains and gutters full of snow and ice there can be a lot of standing water when things start to melt. I was once told not to drive into standing water if you can not see the road stipe, that seems to me to be a good guide on water depth.

Deep Drip

When all this ice melts we will learn what leaks. I have not seem my gutter filled like this.

Easter Eggs

I grew up in Maryland with WHITE eggs, all white eggs. When we went to New England in the summer there was the option of brown eggs. This was very exciting & exotic. Of course I thought brown eggs tasted better. I cant wait to try this bounty  of eggs that Chis & Pat brought me for my birthday. WOW what a color range.

Cover Up

These boxwood shrubs are all wrapped up to protect them from snow damage.

Beach Report

I was down at the beach with my camera, two guys showed up to shoot the sunset to the west. This was the view to the south looking out over the ocean.

This time of year the newer growth on coral bark maples shows best with no leaves to cover.

The recent blast of weather from the north has had it's affect on the bays.
