Like Glass

On some days the water lays very flat on the lowest bit of sand. When the beach is like that you get impressive reflections.

Sun Warmed

I love this brick wall at the South Main beach access. The wall was radiating heat today from the late October sun.

Up Light

After three days of big storms the sky cleared to the west as the sun was setting. With the thick clouds still to the east the sun light shown up into these branches.

Pink Hose

Building new deck covers for the pool today. The air hose tumbled through the pool water as we nailed the deck boards in place.

Beets

Three days of rain and I am taking pictures of roots. I like yellow & pink beats. These got roasted in the oven, pealed and dressed in sesame ginger.

Before the Rain

It was a quiet day at the beach before the rain got here.

Winter Proff ?

The silver shop planted out their window boxes with pansies this fall. This plant with Alpine origins is more winter hardy than most plants. It will be interesting to see how they do.

Just a Bit of Color

As I turned up my driveway this evening there was a bit of rainbow in the sky.

Vintage tractors still in use seem to be popular on some of our local farms.

Dragon Fly

As I was getting out of my car I spotted this dragon fly resting on the tarmac. It climbed up on my car key. It then climbed onto this leaf and I took this photo.

Burst of Mushrooms

Mushrooms just popped up all along RT 27. Mostly near pine trees.

This kitchen sink installed in the 1950s has barely been updated.

After o good summer this magnolia has formed some great seed pods.

Day Trip to Fire Island

 

Crossing the great south bay one first might notice the Belvadere as the boat approaches  Fire Island Cherry Grove

After walking about Cherry Grove we went west past Sailors Haven to the sunken forest.
